Revised Fanime list

WIP: Sugar Picnic
This is a test colour & sketch of my work in progress - I think I've definately decided that I'm going to probably stick to this sort of style. it's still very heavily anime/manga looking but I"m hoping to develop it more from now on. It's very loliesque, I based the dress off the Fruits Parlor print from Angelic Pretty. I have to say that FRUITS PARLOUR and Angelic Pretty, who was at one time, my LEAST favourite of the loli brands; has definitely saved the lolita for me.
I'm hoping that in the coming weeks/days/mo i can get more paint and realize this drawing =). I have a few others i'm working at the moment as well but this one seems more concrete than the others. ( FULL SIZE HERE ) |

I had a wildly unsuccessful trip to Twin Falls today. End result: Aries will not be worn unless I can find a white, pink, or nude bustier. Attention ladies Does anyone have a bustier (34 B or C) that I can borrow at Fanime? I desperately miss my proximity to the fabric district, where a perfect bustier can be purchased for $15-$25. ;_; Soon... ----- edit - I'm in serious WTF mode right now. Damnit, even if I couldn't get it sent express I was just going to have it sent to the hotel. wtf, lady?

Back On The Block
Dear Mustard, Frightening as this may be, I have to post this.  MV030: New Kids On The Block Perform Medley On Today Show The comeback is complete now, eh? I know Miss Tristen Citrine would be thrilled about this. Songs in this medley include Step By Step, Hangin' Tough, and The Right Stuff. I was alerted to this by a friend... and, well, what do ya know? It's like they never left. They really are talented and they sounded better than I thought they would. I'm GLAD they sang live considering we get so many lip-synching acts nowadays. I think it's hilarious that most of their groupies seem like they're thirty-somethings (acting like teenagers, too!). And it's even more funny that there are men in the audience (let alone men in the audience that seem to legitimately like them). Says the 29-year-old dude that went out of his way to post this YouTube video. There are actually three parts to this performance. They perform their new song, Summertime, in this link. I really like this song. But five thirty-somethings singing about the summertime? Wow. And they perform an oldie, Tonight, behind this link. Now they can corner the boy band market! Ummmm... yeah, except there really isn't much of a market right now. But I guess this is how 'N SYNC's going to be if they reunite in five years or so... have old groupies like the Dirty Old Men On The Block. So what's next in the music biz? Their comebacks? Last night (THIS NIGHT TECHNICALY) I went to Korean BBQ & Barcade with the homies! also been steadily trying to remember to doodle at lunch every day before or after my nap. I only did 3 days this week. Still REALLY REALLY rusty, and I really don't like my "style" too much. I want to sort of pull away from the obvious manga (leaning on Yazawa Ai) look and come into my own.

Dear Mustard, It is now May 17th. What's on tap? Of course, the usual NBA Playoff update. Tony, Nelson, and I were doing our usual Laker AIM chats when the sexy chicas from K-CAL Channel 9 News of Los Angeles were brought up. After the Laker game, I left on Channel 9 for a second. Tony kept joking to me that Channel 9 brings the news. I never watch the news. I get my news on the 'Net and stuff. Anyway... ...to make it quick, this is what I got from Channel 9 news... Who was covering Kimbo Slice? Sharon Tay.
And then something about Playboy auditions. Holly Madison is all up on that.

Kakkoi|con 109 fashion show Kakkoi|con is seeking fashion designers to showcase their designs in the Kakkoi|con 109 fashion show, at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel, Minneapolis South (Location of Kakkoi|con, located in the Garden Court stage area). Kakkoi|con is an anime, manga and Japanese pop culture convention being held in Bloomington, MN. Kakkoi|con is showcasing local designers the first night of the convention (Friday, August 1st, 2008) to promote the connections between fashion and/or costume and anime and/or manga. Throughout the weekend will be other fashion and subculture related programming. The mission of this fashion show is to visually explore the connections between anime/manga and fashion. Another List Of 100
Dear Mustard, Happy Birthday to John/Yohn. Before I get to the meat of this entry, let's do this first... Only one game for the NBA Playoffs... New Orleans Hornets 80 @ San Antonio Spurs 99 (Series tied, 3-3) Let's hope that's not the case. I want a real close game. Except I want San Antonio to win, only because of that free dinner... and to finally erase the Curse of Beerman. Now... for the main event... I am very aware of California's overturning of the gay marriage ban. Ya know, this is going to be a long fight. Personally, I'm just all for letting people live their lives. Of course, we all play that Is Rey-Rey really gay? game. But, honestly, why would I be gay if there's something like this right in front of my face?
I know that I will never get tired of looking at hot women. As some people already know, the Maxim Hot 100 list was released earlier today. Click here for the Maxim Hot 100 list. But here are the Top 10. Some of it's somewhat surprising... 10. Ashley Tisdale I'm amazed that Britney Spears is #19 on the list. Hell, I'm amazed that she's on the list, period. I liked her eight years ago when she was like the ultimate sex goddess... and I'm sure she can be sexy again sometime... but right now? Nah. At least, they have Julianne Hough (#30) in this list. The Beerman should be happy that his sweet Vanessa Hudgens is at #12. FHM's #1, Megan Fox (ATTRACTIVE!), is #16 in Maxim's. (EDIT @ 1:18 P.M. I had no idea that Megan Fox turned 22 today!) I'm actually surprised that both HSM chicks are that high up in the list. And Lacey Chabert (#90) is way too low in that list. I must be getting old. Emma Watson's (#94) already 18? And how come this chick isn't in the list? And this chick? And that chick? And her? And her, too? And ESPECIALLY her. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I will have educational conversations about the Maxim Hot 100 in the following days (weeks) to come. But who am I to complain about Marisa Miller, right? ATTRACTIVE.

Thursday is the new Monday
Long crappy day with drama at both places of work. Issues with my schedule at job #1, issues with "customer attentiveness" at job #2. The former is frustrating because my scheduling needs were made 100% clear before they hired me, the latter is cry-worthy because each issue arose from pure chance and shitty timing. I want nothing more than to call in sick tomorrow so that I can de-stress and sew, but I can't because 1)I need the money; 2)It would only make things worse at work; and 3) I can't pull that shit off while living with my dad. I need to sleep, but I got home at 11:30 and have a lot I need to do online. Oh woe is me. At least I got tipped well tonight.

He’ll probably shoot me for posting this, but that’s OK. A cute picture I took of Andrey caught unawares during a quick trip to Solana Beach. Now mind you, we’re not really “beach people” and we went to try to grab a different style of harness for Maggie (which she destroyed even faster). After a Pizza Port trip, we needed to walk about so we ended up at the beach… where a surfer had recently been attacked and killed by a shark.
